Persimmon Hill Campgrounds and Trail

This campground offers 72 campsites along with three large group picnic shelters. Modern amenities include full hookups and flush toilets, playground and an interpretive trail that offers additional recreational opportunities. Picnic areas are complete with grills and tables that make the area perfect for parties or family trips. It has been selected twice as one of America’s Top 100 Family Campgrounds.

Other amenities include a swimming site, hiking, fishing, showers, electricity hookups, fire pit, sewer hookup, grill, water hookup, picnic table, tent pad, accessible. A multi-purpose trail, 3200 feet, is paved for waking or bikes. It has a waterfall, bird feeders, benches, rest area and lights for those who enjoy evening ventures.
It has a boat ramp and fish cleaning station.

From I-55, take exit 233 onto CR 36 south, cross the dam. Turn onto CR 34 and continue one mile, following the signs into the campground.
