Hernando Desoto River Park

Hernando Desoto River Park is situated right on the banks of the Mississippi River just north of Lake Cormorant, the 41 acre Hernando DeSoto Park is DeSoto County’s only public access to the River. The park is closed from ½ hour after sunset until ½ hour before sunrise, except for persons holding a valid overnight use permit. For more information on obtaining an after-hours permit, please call Environmental Services at 662-469-8152. The park features fishing, grill, parking, picnic areas, tables and benches, in addition to an overlook where you can watch the mighty Mississippi roll by.
