Ford’s Well Campground (Spyglass Hill Trail)
Ford’s Well Campground is located on the south side of Enid Lake. This campground is designated for horse enthusiasts to be able to camp with their horses. The campground features eighteen campsites with full hookups, a shower house, dump station, picnic shelter, playground, six picnic sites, five interpretive buildings that date back to the early 1900’s, and a 20.8 miles equestrian trail. The recreation area is a point of historical significance as an early 1900s site where many visitors came to either rink or bathe in the therapeutic waters that were produced by W.B. Ford’s water well. It was also a major stagecoach route through North Mississippi. It’s a popular area for equestrian riders and historians.
The horse-friendly campground has 18 sites, each with a 70-foot RV pad with parking apron, water, electric and sewage hookups, charcoal grill, grill table, picnic table, lantern holder, fire ring and hitching rail for horses, accessible shower house with flush toilets. Other Amenities include a picnic shelter, playground, dump station, horse shower station, horse waste deposit bin, mounting block and historical interpretive buildings that includes a water well with gazebo, log cabin, blacksmith shop, outhouse and barn that are located in the campground. The Spyglass Hill Trail is 20.8 miles that can be ridden by horse or mountain bike, or walked. The trail includes rest stops and a peak that provides a great view.
